 Students Take Honors In Last School Assembly
Mesa High's outstanding students honored with top awards in the final honor assembly of the year, last Monday, May 21, in the auditorium.
The Outstanding citizenship trophy was presented to Steven Freestone, and DAR Good Citizenship award recipients
were Kent Layton and Barbara Sato.
The long awaited award of the year was the Gah-Tso Trophy, presented to the class with the most Gah-Tso points, earned by various activities throughout the year.
The Trophy was presented by Steven Freestone to the senior class of 63.
Other outstanding awards were the Valedictorian and Salutatorian presented to Eric Zenk and Kenneth Ray.
The outstanding sports awards given are the Ishikawa, Powers and Passey-Bond. They went to Bill LeSueur, Ralph Brinkerhoff and Gary Metheny.
Outstanding music students were given Milano Music award, the Hansen Music award, and the James Oakley Jordon award. They presented to Margie Threet, and Spence Cooper.
Mary Anderson, the editor of the yearbook, presented the first 1963 Superstition to Don C. Lillywhite, to whom the book was dedicated.
