THE FRUITS OF VICTORY GO TO FIFTEEN STUDENTS WHO WILL GRADUATE WITH HONORS FROM MESA HIGH SCHOOL THE STUDENTS ARE THE LARGEST NUMBER IN THE HISTORY OF MESA HIGH TO HAVE SUCH HIGH SCHOLASTIC MARKS, ALL HAVING OBTAINED A 1.00 AVERAGE OR BETTER. HEADING THE LIST IS ERICK ZENK, VALEDICTORIAN FOR THE CLASS OF 63. A DEDICATED STUDENT, ERIC WAS ALSO A NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FINALIST. KENNETH RAY RECEIVED THE HONOR OF SALUTATORIAN FOR HIS SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT. THIRTEEN OTHER STUDENTS ALSO OBTAINED HIGH HONORS. THESE ARE: MARY ANDERSON, GEORGE BLISS, ELIZABETH DAVIS, EDWARD ELLIS, BARBARA FERGUSON, JARED HUISH, LARRY JAMES, SHARON LEGGE, JANA LOFGREEN, ELAINE MICKELSON, JUDY NEWMAN, BILLIE KAY OLBERLE AND PATRICIA O'NEAL. IN ADDITION TO INTENSE APPLICATION TO THEIR STUDIES, ALL THESE STUDENTS WERE ACTIVE IN SCHOOL AFFAIRS AND WERE ACKNOWLEDGED YOUTH LEADERS IN THE COMMUNITY.
