Wilcock, Brent Durfee passed away peacefully on July 28, 2009 surrounded by family after complications from a stroke. He was born on May 23, 1945 in Lovell, WY to Thara and Ethel Beal (Durfee). He was raised in WY and moved to AZ in 1951. He graduated from Mesa High '63 and BYU '69. He served a full time mission in NYC. He married the love of his life, Jill Wilcken and they had six children: Derek (Shawnah), Wendi (Richard) Jensen, Holli (Troy) Gardner, Devin (Tiffany), Dalen (Ali), Trisni (Tieg) Justesen. He leaves behind his wife of 41 years,children and 20 grandchildren as well as four of his five siblings, Kennard, Ronnie, Wendell (deceased), Arvella Merrill (Las Cruces, NM),Thala Thomas(Pullayup,WA) and many other family members and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa. He was a faithful member of the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served with a happy heart as a bishop, prison minister, assistant at the Randolph Center, and teacher to name a few. He was in the insurance industry for most of his adult life. He loved his country and showed his patriotism by serving in many civic capacities, including Gilbert Kiwanis, Junior Achievement and Rotary. He was the best Santa Claus ever. He will be dearly missed, but left a wonderful legacy. Thank you Dad. Services will be held with a viewing Thursday, July 30 at Bunker Funeral Home (Val Vista and University) from 6-8 PM and funeral services will be held Friday, July 31st with a viewing at 9 AM and10 AM funeral services at the LDS church building in Gilbert on Lindsay and Elliot . Burial following at Mesa City Cemetery.
