I lost track of Ron over the years.  I now wish I had put forth more effort in keeping in touch.   After HS, Ron and I and another Mesa High graduate spent so much time together.  He was the funniest man I've ever known and could make me laugh until the tears ran.  One of the strangest things we did was after the Presidential election, where Goldwater lost, Ron wanted to go to his house.  I didn't think we'd get beyond the guard, but when we arrived there was no guard, and no locked gate.  We drove up the spiral drive way and the 3 of us walked up to the door.  Ron did the talking and I never opened my mouth.  A woman in a white uniform came to the door, in her stocking feet and Ron said "hi is Mike home"  the woman said he was out for the night and then Ron said, "well is Barry around" and the woman said "I'm sorry the Senator is out of the states for a couple of weeks, would you like to leave a message?" and Ron simply said "tell him that Ron stopped by" and we walked away.  I don't know what he would have done if Barry Goldwater or his son Mike would have been home, and Ron didn't know either.  We talked about that a lot and laughed so much.  He was something and I'll forever remember this sweet man.  Rest in peace Ron....you were loved.
