I AM SO SAD TO LOSE SUCH A WONDERFUL FRIEND.  BESIDES BEING CLASSMATES AT MHS, WE WERE ROOMMATE AT ASU WHERE WE WERE PLEDGING ALPHA DELTA PI SORORITY.  WE HAD SO MUCH FUN AND DOUBLE DATED WITH OUR FUTURE HUSBANDS.  CAROL FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT AND LOOKED SO GOOD NEAR THE END THAT YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW HOW SICK SHE WAS.  WE ARE TRAVELING OR I WOULD HAVE GONE TO THE MEMORIAL. GOOD-BYE TO A SWEET, SWEET FRIEND.

It is with great sadness that I inform the class that one of my best friends and our classmate Carol James passed away on July 13th 2012. She lived in Gilbert, AZ. Carol remained dear friends to many in the class of 63. She even traveled on vacation several times with a group of 5 or 6 girls from our class. She had a bond with these girls as if they were all sisters. There were a few of us who were fortunate enough to stay in her lovely condo in Oceanside, Ca. She had a smile that would light up the room and never ever talked bad about anyone. Carol fought a long (5 1/2 year) battle with ovarian cancer taking any chemo they would give her. She suffered greatly the last month or two and is finally at peace. She leaves behind her two daughters and three beautiful granddaughters. Her sister Midge was also by her side day and night. Carol requested no funeral. Her daughters held a beautiful memorial celebration of life at Carol's home on Sat. July 21st. 2012. Classmates there today were Bonnie Brennan, Jane Tune, Lauren Thompson, Pat Pitton,Mike Jolly and Tonya Coombs. This is the hardest name yet for me personally to add to our ever growing list of fallen classmates. Carol loved Elvis and we know he was there to welcome her. We will miss Marcia Carol James deeply, Tonya Coombs
