Elaine Roth was born at 4:45 p.m. on June 14, 1945,
to Ernest L. and Mary Mobley Giffen in Phoenix.
She went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, Sept.
16, 2012.
On May 6, 1971, Elaine gave birth to a daughter,
Heidi Melissa, in Hillsboro, Ore. In 1973 they began
attending the Oregon City Assembly of God church
and shortly thereafter moved to Oregon City.
Between 1971 and 1976 Elaine lost one child that she
is happily playing with now. In 1976 Elaine gave
birth to a son, Jeremy Christopher, at the Oregon City
hospital. In late 1977 the Roth’s moved to Page,
where Joe got a job working at the power plant. On
Feb. 16, 1978 Elaine gave birth to a daughter,
Jennifer Melanie, at the Page hospital.
Elaine worked with children in Sunday school and
Missionettes and made sure each child knew he or she
were loved. That love was transposed to her children and grandchildren. Her work at her church,
making sure all of the books balanced was a never ending battle for her, even if they were off
one penny.
Elaine is survived by her husband of 43 years, Joseph, her children Heidi Roth of Page, Jeremy
Roth of Farmington, N.M. and Jennifer Martin of Seattle, Wash.; her older sister, Terry Pike, of
Tulsa, Okla., brother, Leroy Giffen, of Page, sister, Evelyn Brubaker, of Mulina Ore., brother
Larry Giffen, of Loveland, Texas and 2 grandchildren, Deacon and Tristan.
Preceding her in death, were her parents and 2 brothers, Elmer and Lonnie.
Services were held at the First Assembly of God church in Page on Sept. 19, 2012.
Interment was at the Page City Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
